Microhoo has secret meeting
Microsoft executives spoke. Yahoo executives listened. No bankers were present. That was the news out of a secret meeting Monday between high-level officials at both companies, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
Sources close to both camps said the meeting wasn't a negotiation. Instead, it was an opportunity for Microsoft executives to present their vision for what a combined company, jokingly referred to as Microhoo, would look like.
No further talks have been scheduled to jumpstart what has become a drawn-out campaign by Microsoft to acquire Yahoo.
Yahoo has reportedly had similar discussions with AOL and News Corp., although Rupert Murdoch has said he no longer thinks he'll be able to cut a deal with Yahoo.
