Yahoo not done shopping

Companies that are serious about being acquired or finding a way to merge with a competitor typically aren't in the market for their own acquisitions. But then again, there's nothing typical about the soap opera that has engulfed Microsoft and Yahoo. And now, it appears Yahoo has added yet another cast member in the form of IndexTools, a Hungarian web analytics company.

The acquisition gives Yahoo enhanced offerings for web analytics, something that should help it compete with Google in its bid to serve small and medium-sized publishers. Yahoo also said the deal would help it offer more insight to its advertisers.

The news comes just two days after Yahoo began making a public push for AMP, its new display advertising platform.

Yahoo did not disclose the terms of the deal.
