AOL is launching the AOL Technology Network, a conglomeration of tech blogs that will be the second largest technology news and information publisher online and will hopefully give a boost to Platform A.
The network includes Engadget, TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog), DownloadSquad and Switched. Keeping in line with AOL's move towards advertising, the new network is designed to give users the latest tech news while allowing advertisers to integrate campaigns across all the sites.
"Combining these great technology information sites into one network lets us offer marketers the ability to more easily buy across these sites and reach some of the savviest and most engaged consumers online," Platform A President Lynda Clarizio said.
Switched, a blog aimed at readers with a more casual interest in technology, will serve as the network's hub. Each blog can be accessed by both its domain name and through AOL's portal.
The announcement comes just a day after news broke of AOL's new ad management system that lets small publisher handle their own inventory.
