Yahoo and McAfee make search safe
When it comes to search, everyone is trailing Google. But with the search giant under siege with malware, Yahoo is trying to distinguish itself by making search a little safer.
Yahoo is partnering with McAfee to integrate their Site Advisor into Yahoo search, according to a Tech Crunch report. Dangerous websites that infect computers with malware will be removed from Yahoo search results, while less hazardous ones will be flagged based on reported problems.
Site Advisor is an add-on for Firefox that provides warnings to users. It has been downloaded 135 million times, according to McAfee.
